A
Christmas card designed by John Lennon is to be re-printed to mark the 50th anniversary of Oxfam's seasonal cards. The Fat Budgie was first available as an Oxfam Christmas card at the height of Beatlemania in 1965.

When you are making out your Christmas card list this year, please include the following:

A Recovering American soldier

c/o Walter Reed Army Medical Center
6900 Georgia Avenue,NW
Washington,D.C. 20307-5001

UPDATE: APPARENTLY THIS IS NOT TRUE ACCORDING TO SNOPES!

OOPS! CLARIFICATION: It is "A Recovering American soldier" which is not true. The John Lennon Christmas card is true!

Karen, they won't take the cards anymore. Worried about security I think.

mid~ what's cards got to do with security; are they afraid a bomb might be slipped into a card!?!

I'm sending mine anyhow. If they want to send it back, it's on their conscience.

btw, do you have a link to that info because I'd like to post it.

Just checked out Snopes, and you're correct mid, this is not true.

Thanks for letting us know!

So it's Walter Reed that won't accept the cards as opposed to Oxfam's Lennon's card being fake?

I need to re-read what I post for clarification purposes.

You are exactly correct, sage! I've added the change on the post...
