As defined by Mahatma Gandhi:
In India when people meet and part they often say, Namaste' which means: "I honor the place within you where the entire Universe resides; I honor the place within you of love, of light, of truth, of peace; I honor the place within you, where, when you are in that place in you, and I am in that place in me, there is only one of us."
I know you love Gore so much and all, so what do you think of his personal utility records becomming public?
221,000 kilowatt-hours last year? Holy crap! That's 20 times the national average.
His electric bill averaged $1,359 per MONTH. That's a mortgage payment for a lot of working people.
Gore didn't dispute these numbers, because they are plain facts. But he did talk about offsetting his "carbon footprint."
Honestly, and scientifically speaking, carbon offsetting is a bunch of B.S. It's a modern indulgent form of removing true reponsbility from the impact we all make from the environment. Go drive a Hummer all year long because you've planted five trees? That's not right. It's a great way to resolve your personal consumption of resources with an environmental conscience.
I'm not saying Gore is a bad person for having $30,000 in utility bills from his lavish 20 room mansion. He's human. The man has worked hard and deserves everything he's got. It's the American Way.
BUT, if he wants to "walk the walk," putting up some solar panals and signing up for green energy is really just a beginning, and not a means to an end.
Just look at his personal consumption. It's amazing. It's a whole lot.
phoenix~ somehow the MSM failed to print this story...wonder why!?!
"Gore purchased 108 blocks of "green power" for each of the past three months, according to a summary of the bills.
That's a total of $432 a month Gore paid extra for solar or other renewable energy sources.
The green power Gore purchased in those three months is equivalent to recycling 2.48 million aluminum cans or 286,092 pounds of newspaper, according to comparison figures on NES' Web site."
When Al came Down Under, we welcomed him as we normally do, anyone with a good message and great intent. He didn't need body guards and black limos and guns....he just wandered around and received a standing ovation everywhere he was interviewed and spoke.. See dickhead Cheney...THAT is how you do it.... Congrats to Al. Moe power to you... (Get the reference??)
