I just went to the link read the story and checked some others. I wish I had more time or energy or expertise or something to comment on more places like that because there are so many that are underrated and under appreciated.
Anyway Karen I expect it to come soon and one of my sons is due home the end of this month another is headed to the hot spot soon and he thinks I'm nuts when I told him to be prepared because it is coming and the idiot does not care that our troops are over extended or we're broke.
I can't stop shaking my head and thinking so I better shut up and stop!

Patriot.... You let your sons go there? What is wrong with you?

bbc~ Me too!

patriot~ I've learned one thing, we can't stop our kids from doing what they want.

Take comfort to know your sons have a wonderful role model for a Dad.

bbc~ As I said above, you can't stop your kids.

*sigh*

They're men! I can advise them but of course can't tell them what to do. He may be there now but the one heading to Iraq as EOD just got back from Afghanistan last June. Today he turns 27. They have both done multiple tours and the fool heading to Iraq took his youngest brother down to sign him up as a combat engineer before he left. Oh man!

patriot~ So you have three sons, how nice.

If it's okay with you, I'll put them on my prayer list.

I thank you! They think it's funny but I don't. They can use all the prayers they can get. I have 4 sons and the youngest is 19 and is the one who just enlisted as a combat engineer. That is a one way fast track to Iraq!
The one I thought was safe wants to go there after tech school as a civilian employee. Must be something they ate!

patriot~ Okay, prayer list it is! :o)

I feel for you Patriot!
I don't believe in prayer, but I do believe in parenting.
You have done a wonderful job, and as parents our job is to have faith in our children.

All the best to your family. Hopefully they will soon be out of there.
Cheers and thoughts.

Thanks Polly
you hear people talking about their wonderful kids and they are sometimes even killers. These are my sons and I don't care whose they are they are beautiful beings and representetives of the human race. I wish everyone could meet them and those that do feel the smile of their souls!
We are just best friends and I raised them accordingly. Their being i would like to take credit for as I raised them not their Mother but I suspect it is their genes.
