Why not? After all, they've already solved unemployment, welfare, immigration, education, infrastructure and all the other issues that have plagued the state - it's time to bring the undeniable geo-political power that is New Mexico to Pluto's aid.

Of course, they're also many out there who beleive we've been invaded by aliens, and we wouldn't want to risk offending any who might be in our midst.

That is too cute. I don't know why I find it cute, but how it's worded so seriously and then at the end they declare it Pluto Planet Day is sweet.
I love the sentiment of this proclamation. It was a travesty to ever demote our beloved Pluto in the first place.
Too bad we can't visit the cold orb to state our support in person. If Jimmy Neutron can do it...
